Neuropathic Bladder Treatment

We use technology to diagnose and understand Neuropathic bladder disorder. We use nervous system tests for diagnosing neuropathic bladder disorder.

Urodynamic studies- It is a test to measure the Bladder’s urine holding capacity, bladder pressure capacity, consistency of urine flow and bladder emptying prowess. A sensor is placed on the skin near the urethra to check the condition of these muscles and nerves.

MRI- It is done to diagnose the condition of the bladder and shows the extent of damage in the case of the neuropathic bladder.

Cystoscopy- It’s the examination of the internal bladder system through a cystoscope. This shows the image of the bladder on-screen and the doctor analyses the extent of the damage.

Non-surgical Treatment

We can treat it in this manner if it’s a mild infection. The treatment which is considered non-surgical are:

Using antibiotics- The antibiotics are good in preventing further infection in UTI and it also lowers the rare infection.

Catheters- When it is not possible to contain urination despite medication in kids it is best to use catheters. A catheter is a pouch placed outside the bladder and a small tube is inserted near the bladder. The urine passes via tube and is deposited in the catheter which has to be emptied frequently.

Surgical Treatment

Laparoscopic surgery- This is the modern way of performing seamless surgery. In this surgery first, a small incision is made in the belly. And through this incision, a short tube with a camera and tools like long and short trochars with one end is inserted inside. This cuts the top of the bladder, removes it, heals it and attaches it to the bladder to enlarge it.
