What is anorectal malformation?

Most of the times a child’s anus and rectum are in perfect shape. These give a smooth bowel movement. But things change in anorectal malformation. In this condition, the anus and rectum of the fetus are not properly developed. When this happens the baby’s bowel movement gets affected. However, it only strikes in rare cases.

It affects both boys and girls equally as the fistula is present in both of their urinary tract systems.
